Seneca Valley Screaming Eagles vs. Northwood 05/08/2008 - Jesse Irvin
Earn first round bye and home playoff game.
The Screaming Eagles bats came alive early yesterday as they scored 8 runs in the first and 5 each in the 2nd & 3rd innings on their way to an 18-1 win over Northwood yesterday in varsity baseball. Brian Black and Lorenzo Christy crushed doubles in the first inning, and Tyler Klitsch delivered his own double in the second as the Eagles won their 7th game in a row. Jake Fort, along with Klitsch and Christy, scored 3 runs in the win. The pitching was handled by Brian Black, who won his 5th game of the season by allowing only 1 run in 4 innings, while junior Russell Main justified head coach Terry Changuris' faith in him by working a perfect inning of relief in his varsity debut, striking out all 3 batters he faced. The team will be back on the field Wednesday at Churchill. [Game Photos]
